History - Who We Are
Growing up on a sports crazy suburban Upstate NY street in the 1970s/80s, one could not help but get bit by the sports bug! Each day was spent playing every sport imaginable. On the rainy days when it was not possible to be outside doing actual sports, collecting sports cards of our favorite players became our secondary passion. For most kids, this passion of collecting sports cards was outgrown by their mid-teenage years. Not for us, as our passion for both playing sports and collecting would continue into adulthood. As luck would have it, we have been fortunate enough to turn these passions into a business. In 1990, as a fund-raiser for an Upstate NY softball league we played in, myself and friends Tom Antis & Keith Baker came up with the idea of putting on a sports card & memorabilia show. Based on the success of that event, we immediately held several other events, and Twin Cities Sports Promotions was born.
Being in a small market in Upstate NY, our budget was very small. Thus we focused on utilizing former athletes and upcoming minor league prospects. From 1990 through present, Twin Cities Sports Promotions has promoted over 100 events consisting of public sports card shows and private autograph signings with dozens of minor leaguers who would go on to become major leaguers, as well as baseball & football Hall of Famers. Through these events, many friendships and relationships of trust were developed between Twin Cities Sports Promotions and the athletes.
Today, Twin Cities Sports Promotions acts as a marketing agent for dozens of former athletes and Hall of Famers for appearances, marketing endeavors and endorsements. Some of these appearances/marketing endeavors have included utilizing athletes for:
